I've always wanted to look good and feel healthy. Though I haven't struggled with health problems per say I have struggled with maintaining a healthy weight. Growing up I wasn't bothered too much by being "big boned", I wanted to look like a super model sure but generally whatever teasing peers had to say about my weight or looks rolled right off me.
Still, I knew I was chubby and I knew I could take better care of my body. But since I usually balance my love for food with a decent amount of physical activity things didn't get too out of hand in my mind.
When I got to college, my physical activity side of life even had the upper hand on my sweet tooth and I got into the best shape of my life. Lucky for me I met my husband at my peak. We looked great in our engagement and wedding photos.
But then we had children... No really though, I've heard the rumors of the pregnancy hormone HCG being used to lose weight but in my book that just made every single calorie I ate stick to me like glue…ok and maybe my appetite was completely insatiable.
So I gained about 60 lbs during pregnancy, the typical 20-30 (baby, fluids etc) came off after, and then nothing more. Then surprise, baby #2. Now the thing about baby #2 is I had several people tell me if you don't lose the baby weight before baby #2 you never will. Why would anyone tell a new mother that? I don't know. It was kind of depressing, especially since I gained even more weight with my second pregnancy.
This "before" picture I took after my second child was born, with a smile on my face though because I determined it would be a "before" picture.
However, I have yet to take the official "after" picture, now three years after the fact and another baby later. But the "weight" is almost over, because with the awesome fitness challenge my brother and I are hosting starting January 1st I will be getting in the best shape of my life and that after picture you better believe will be posted here June 30th, 2014!!!
